Severe-earthquake consequence assessment for planning, resilience and scientific cooperation.

SECA integrates two complementary pathways. SECA-GM uses a global formulation to estimate human and physical consequences at national or territorial scale. SECA-DM proportionally transfers the experience of comparable historical earthquakes to a study city. Both methods are part of the THEK ecosystem and support technical analysis, training, cooperation, licensing and applied development.

A global mathematical formulation derived from historical earthquake analysis, vulnerability factors, population, magnitude and depth.

SECA-DM · Discrete Modeling Method

A rapid method that transfers consequences observed in comparable historical earthquakes to a study city using population, physical inventory and magnitude adjustments.
